About DCBH

Denver Colorado Ball Hockey (DCBH) is starting a ball hockey league in partnership with Parker Fieldhouse and the National Ball Hockey League.

DCBH is proud to partner with the Parker Fieldhouse and the National Ball Hockey League to provide this opportunity. DCBH, Parker Fieldhouse, and the NBHL’s goal is to provide an organized, fun, safe, fair, and consistent league.

While hockey is a popular sport in Denver, there are no organized ball hockey leagues in the area. DCBH is changing that - we want to grow the sport of ball hockey, and ultimately hockey, by providing everyone an opportunity to participate without the need to throw on skates.

Official Rules

The complete rules of the Denver Colorado Ball Hockey league.

Game Duration: Three 20-minute periods with a running clock. Stop time in final 2 minutes of third if within 2 goals.

Teams: 15 players max, 6 on floor (5 skaters + goalie).

Overtime: 5-minute sudden death (3-on-3), then shootout.

Required: Helmets, gloves, shin guards, elbow pads.

Sticks: Regulation ball hockey sticks only.

Minor (2min): Hooking, tripping, slashing.

Major (5min): Fighting, boarding.

Match: Game ejection for attempt to injure.

Top 4 teams qualify. Semi-finals (1v4, 2v3) and Championship final. Winner receives DCBH Cup.

Ball hockey is a fast-paced sport played on foot, similar to ice hockey but with a ball instead of a puck.

Key differences: Played on foot (no skates), uses a ball, no offside or icing rules, faster pace with more scoring opportunities.

DCBH welcomes players of all skill levels. Intermediate level – Familiar with playing hockey, has played in leagues before, or has foundational understanding of game and positioning, decent stick skills.
